Twinkle twinkle little star, high above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky…
It’s quite dark now. Everything’s quiet.
Except for you, typing away.
Eyes blinked in slow-motion. They know they have to get as much shut-eye as they can tonight.
I mean that literally.
Deep, slow breaths.
Are you imitating the sleeping ones? I think you are.
The cold sweeps in, and you sniffed. You left the window open still, too absorbed to even move.
A wide, jaw-creaking yawn takes you by surprise, I know the expression on your face.
You sniffed again. Sighed.
Finally, looked up. Out of the glass window.
There are stars tonight, you realize. A rare occurrence.
And they really twinkle. The stars.
Twinkle, twinkle little star – and it blinks out.
(…so, just thought that I haven’t written one of these in some time… don’t ask me what it is, I have no idea)
